I followed a bunch of different characters on Twitter. I found it interesting to follow politicians, mostly but also a few celebrities. The political accounts seemed to focus on current events related to their political views. Some of their comments referenced the opposite party often joking at their expense. Most of my feed included tweets of @realDonaldTrump a he talks a lot about his recent executive orders and the impacts the had made. I do not think the account is authentic because politicians are always trying to make themselves appealing. Their public appearance is shaped and influence by a number of people who council the person who posts on the account. His brand is what he does as president and chooses to express it by writing comment to explain and clarify some of his actions. I also followed celebrities and their accounts had a different feel to it. They seem to do more lighthearted joking and relaxed. One of the accounts I followed was @ActuallyNPH; this is Neil Patrick Harris’s account. The account reflected his personality more and seemed more genuine. I think this account had a more personal feeling to it because it included information from his own life. Neil Patrick Harris used twitter to give people a glimpse into his life where the political accounts seemed to be more of informative and like a show. Harris’s account gives people a personal connection to him and that draws people in. His brand is his life. He tweets about his family and events that he had enjoyed. He expresses his brand by talking what is going on in his life and trying to get responses from his followers. He asks for feedback and makes comments on his upcoming events. The difference between the political accounts and celebrity accounts is that the political accounts promote themselves and celebrities are sharing their lives. Both are trying to make themselves appealing but use different strategies to connect with their followers
